Griffey wants and deserves a ring. I can’t blame him for aprroving the trade. This is one Indians fan who’ll be rooting for the White Sox this year (and this year only.)
I remember watching Willie Mays with the Mets in the late 70s. It was sadder, but Junior reminds me of him. He’s overweight, covers no ground (him in CF was a joke 5 years ago), has no bat speed or power, and contributes little. Shame on Dusty for batting him 3rd for the Reds all season. Injuries surely changed the story, but he was overrated when he arrived. Everyone wonders “what if” but I wonder “what if” if the trade from Seattle had never happened?
With this trade and the Dunn move, we’re finally moving out from under the legacy of Leatherpants. HOO-RAY!
